A cell can contain different things.

  1. A value/ number
  2. A Formula
  3. Formatting
  5. Validation

When you copy and paste a cell in Microsoft Excel, you can take any or all of these things with you to the destination where you are copying it. Sometimes you will want everything, other times you will only want the value, or the formula, or the formatting.

We are not going to look at the validation part. That is for a more advanced class.
