Every Thursday at 12 pm Pacific there is a secret meeting on Twitter.
OK, so it’s not such a secret. It’s called #QBOChat and it was started by Cathy Iconis, of The Iconis Group.
Cathy has successfully turned #QBOChat into a phenomenon, where people from all over come together to discuss many topics with one common foundation. QuickBooks Online. If you have a pulse, and you live, or work in the small business accounting world, then you know that QuickBooks Online has evolved into the single most used cloud based small business accounting application in the US, and many other parts of the world.
The #QBOChat feed, is of course, around 24/7, all week long, but on Thursdays at 12 pm Pacific, the #QBOChat feed comes to life.
Avalara is taking over the #QBOChat this Thursday, February 18, 2016, and they’ve invited me as their guest host, to have a conversation around marketing and branding for accountants and bookkeepers. Let me just say this. When I was a kid, in grade school, one of the grades we would receive on our report cards, was “NI.” It stood for “Needs Improvement” and while I love my accounting and bookkeeping colleagues from all over, I think most of them would agree that we need a grade of NI on our marketing and branding efforts. Accountants are great with numbers, not so great when it comes to finding their voice, and getting it out there so that people know who you are, what you do, and whom you do it for!
To participate in the #QBOChat live, visit this page:
You’ll need to log into Nurph – it’s really easy. But then again, sometimes it isn’t.
First, make sure you’re logged into Twitter directly on the web. Not your app, like Hootsuite, but actually go to Twitter.com, and log in.
If you click to log into Nurph, and find that nothing seems to change, then go directly out to Nurph.com. Click the login option directly on their site. You’ll be asked to authorize your account with Twitter.
Then go back to QBO Chat live, and refresh the page. All will be well.
WAIT! There’s More!
I am also going to broadcast this live on Periscope. So you can watch me live, and participate in the chat, and you can ask questions that way as well.
I’m all about giving you choices!
To participate in the Periscope portion, just follow @nerdenterprises on Twitter, and look for the tweet that says I’ve gone live. Then click the link and off you go. You’ll be watching me tweet, and chat live from my home office in beautiful, downtown Burbank, CA.
I can’t wait for this event! I am both excited and honored to be asked to be included in this, and I look forward to seeing you on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 12 pm Pacific, 3 pm eastern, and other times, at various places in between!
