Meeting Notes
I’ve been going to more meetings lately and trying to help more guys go through the steps to learn how to live a better life. Last night I spoke at one and I know I got the message across because people were lining up to get my number. One of the things I explained that I was taught by one of my first Sponsors in the program was that you should always have a pen and paper so you can write things down. This helps me to remember what I’ve learned from people – and there is always great stuff to be learned at a meeting when you are truly listening. Often times as addicts and alcoholics we find ourselves judging - finding fault with others. This of course not only doesn’t help us – it hurts us because we don’t progress and we miss the opportunities to hear the good parts of the messages. Sometimes I just sit and doodle, but the doodle is “recovery based”. This is a scan of what I doodled last night while people were sharing:
